Hello! My name is Gonzalo, and I’m an officially licensed tour guide, born and raised in Barcelona—and the person behind DIY Barcelona Tours.
Art and travel have always been two of my greatest passions. Before becoming a Barcelona tour guide, I spent over ten years working as a professional photographer—specializing in fashion, commercial, and photojournalism—in cities such as Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Manila. That international experience, together with my love for visual storytelling, has shaped the way I view the world, especially Barcelona, inspiring me to return home and become a tour guide—a decision I’m grateful for every single day!
After coming back to Barcelona, and before obtaining my official tour guide license from the Government of Catalonia and starting my own business, I worked as a guide for a private tour company specializing in high-end, tailor-made experiences. During that time, I led over 500 fully customized private tours, working closely with travelers to design itineraries adapted to their interests, pace, and travel style.
DIY Tours was born from that experience. Today, I offer fully customizable private tours designed around you. Whether you prefer exploring the city in a comfortable private car, a VIP Mercedes van, or even a tuk-tuk, my panoramic tours (3 to 6 hours) combine Barcelona’s iconic landmarks with hidden corners most visitors never get to experience. Tours usually include a private visit to a landmark of your choice—such as the Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, Casa Batlló, etc. —with skip-the-line access.
